How to check your Cash App transfer
Cash App does not offer a public lookup by reference — a transfer's status is only visible to the signed-in sender inside Cash App's own app. We can't fetch it for you, so here is exactly where to find it, plus the meaning of every status further down this page.
What each status means
| Completed | Recipient's Cash App balance was credited instantly. |
| Pending | Cash App is verifying the transaction or recipient hasn't accepted. |
| Failed | Declined — wrong recipient, fraud rule trigger or balance / linked-card issue. |
| Refunded | Recipient refunded the payment or Cash App auto-reversed an unaccepted payment. |
Frequently asked questions
Does Cash App work internationally?
Only between US and UK Cash App accounts (limited). For broader cross-border transfers use Wise, Remitly or a SWIFT bank wire.
Where do I find my Cash App payment ID?
Tap the payment in Activity → tap the three-dots menu → "View transaction details" — the payment ID is at the bottom.
Can I cancel a Cash App payment?
Only while it is still Pending — open the payment and tap "Cancel". Completed payments are final.
Cash App scam recovery?
Cash App has limited buyer protection. Report the payment immediately in-app (Profile → Support → Report a payment issue) and ask your bank for a chargeback if the funds came from a linked card.
