Venmo Payment Tracker — Status Guide (US Only)
Venmo is a US-only peer-to-peer payment app owned by PayPal. There is no public tracker and no cross-border / SWIFT element. Status is shown inside the app under "You" → tap the payment.
How to check your Venmo transfer
Venmo does not offer a public lookup by reference — a transfer's status is only visible to the signed-in sender inside Venmo's own app. We can't fetch it for you, so here is exactly where to find it, plus the meaning of every status further down this page.
What each status means
| Completed | Recipient has the funds in their Venmo balance instantly. |
| Pending | Recipient hasn't accepted yet (typically because they don't have Venmo set up). |
| Cancelled | Sender cancelled or pending payment expired. |
| Failed / Held | Venmo declined or held for review — usually fraud rule trigger, frozen account, or unverified high-value transfer. |
